These rules decide how MaintenanceOps splits hours into regular, overtime and
double time. They drive the payroll ledger, the timecard screens, and what is exported to the ERP —
all from the same numbers. Changing a rule does not alter payroll that has already been exported;
exported periods are locked.

Mechanic certifications
49 CFR 396.25 requires a brake inspector to be qualified and the carrier to keep the
evidence — there is no federal number and no registry, so what is stored here
is the evidence of record. Records are retired, never deleted: the obligation
runs a year past the person performing the work.
Driver inspection defects awaiting triage
Every failed DVIR arrives here. Deciding whether a unit is safe to drive is a
person's call, so nothing closes itself. Closing one records a certification under
49 CFR 396.11 — that the defect was repaired, or that repair is unnecessary.
